Our Brooklyn Instructor
Our black belt founder of the program, Zhenya (Gene) Sakirski, brings a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Gene’s jiu-jitsu journey began in 1998, when he was recruited by the now-renowned coach John Danaher, who was just a blue belt at the time.
They connected on the wrestling mats in New York University, where Gene was a student, and Danaher convinced Gene to check out Renzo Gracie’s Jiu-Jitsu school. Since then, Gene has continued to train under the legendary Renzo Gracie while sharing his knowledge and teaching in South Brooklyn.
With over 15 years of teaching experience, Gene is well-known for his structured teaching manner, approachable and kind demeanor, always ready to answer questions and help students deepen their understanding of the art.
Our Location
Our school is proud to be located within the renowned Darfight Judo School on Brighton Beach Avenue, home to one of the nation’s top judo programs.
As part of their association, we have one of the largest mat spaces in all of Brooklyn, our facility provides ample room for students to train, spar, and learn comfortably.
We are located on the second floor:

Our Schedule
Our classes start with technique training, progress into technique-driven sparring, and conclude with live rolls. Students are welcome to leave at any time.
